Robert Becker

1931-2017

Robert E. Becker, DVM, 86, of Crosslake, Minnesota, passed away in Pine River, on December 15, 2017. Born September 21, 1931, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Edward Gustav Becker and Helen Grace (Sopha) Becker. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jacqueline (Lenk) Becker; four children: Marla (Harry) Sullivan, Charles (Debbie) Becker, Phil Becker and Amy Becker LaFrance; nine grandchildren: Joshua Becker, Katie (Brian) Shaw, Abbie Sullivan, David Sullivan, Ginger Becker, Vincent Becker, Bridget Becker, Margaret Becker and Morgan Becker; as well as three great grandchildren: Owen and Audrey Shaw and Declan Sullivan; and his sister-in-law, Louise Becker. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Charles William (Bud) Becker; sister-in-law Mary Sue (Hodges) Becker; and daughter-in-law Jodie Becker.

Bob Becker graduated from Michigan State College with a B.S. in chemistry and later a DVM and worked as a large and small animal veterinary practitioner for more than 40 years in Indiana and Minnesota. He also worked as a beef rancher. An avid outdoorsman and traveler, Bob hunted and fished acrosul Harris Society, the Lions Club, the Ms the United States and traveled the world with his wife. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018, with visitation at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church Swanburg, 10973 County Road One, Pine River, MN 56474.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted by the Crow Wing County Soil and Water Conservation District (322 Laurel St. Suite 22 Brainerd, MN. 54601) to complete a water project for Big Trout Lake that was championed by Bob Becker.
