Tamara Evans

1968-2018

Tamara Yvonne Evans, 49 of St. Michael, Minnesota passed away on April 13, 2018 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends in her home. She was the wife of Jon Evans. They shared 17 years together.

Tamara was born October 21, 1968 in Wadena. She was the daughter of Gerald and Yvonne (Vonnie) Yliniemi. She attended Sebeka Schools until the family moved to Brainerd in 1984. She graduated from Brainerd High School in 1987. She then attended the Model College of Hair Design in St. Cloud. She was a cosmetologist for over 30 years. She was part owner of Studio Excel for six years before moving to St. Michael in 2001 after marrying Jon. She was currently working at InSparation Salon in Albertville.

Tamara was known for her beautiful smile, unforgettable laugh and the way she lit up the room when she walked into it. Tammy was the life of the party and had a special way of making everyone she met feel like her best friend.

Tammy is survived by her husband, Jon; parents, Gerald and Yvonne Yliniemi; children: Olaf (Jordan) Evans, Casey Evans, Cameron Olson and Jaeger Evans; siblings: Rock (Janice) Yliniemi, LaCoe (Dan) Inwards; grandchildren: Jacob and Mason Evans, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, Clinton (Buster) and Dorothy Anderson, and Hjalmar and Jenny Yliniemi.

Visitation for Tammy will be held on Friday, April 20 from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in St. Michael.

A Celebration of Tammy’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m. at the St. Michael/Albertville West Middle School, 11343 50th St NE, Albertville. Officiating will be Pastor Jeremiah Curran. A reception will follow the service at Middle School West.
