Carol Jones

1965-2018

Carol Ann Jones, age 53, of the Bear Clan and Cass Lake, Minnesota began her journey home on Thursday, August 2, 2018 in Fargo, North Dakota. Carol was born in Sawyer, Minnesota on March 9, 1965, she was the youngest of six children born to Rose (LaRose) and Mervel Jones II.

Carol lived and grew up in the Cass Lake area. Unfortunately, she lost her parents at a very young age. During her teenage years, she left home and moved to Minneapolis, where she lived for many years. During her time there, she met and fell in love with Terrance DeMarr. Together they had six children. Carol was a stay at home mother, as she enjoyed being with and loved taking care of her family. Eventually her path in life led her back home to Cass Lake. Carol enjoyed various activities. Among her favorites were playing Cleopatra Keno at the Casino, Candy Crush and Bingo Blitz. Her number one, above all else, was spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren.

Family that Carol is reunited with are her parents, Rose and Mervel Jones II; siblings: Mervel “Tiger” Jones III, Veronica Jones and Sandra Woodward; nephews: Pete, Jesse, Cory, Manomin and Xavier; and her special sister; Chrissy Woodward.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Daniel Jones of Inger, Rosalie Jones of Boy Lake, Terrance (Ash) Jones, Sr. of Cass Lake, Crystal Jones of Bemidji, Elizabeth (Matt Bryan) Jones of Cass Lake and Diana (Alex) Jones of Cass Lake; sister, Diana Bakke of Taylors Falls, Wisconsin; brother, Tom Jones of Cass Lake; 27 grandkids, numerous other relatives and many friends.

A wake for Carol will began on Wednesday, August 8 and continued until her funeral service on Friday, August 10 all being held at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake. Pallbearers for Carol were Rosalie Jones, Tonya Jones, Roxanne Jones, Elizabeth Jones, Crystal Jones, Caitlin Roy, Vydell Jones and Diana Jones. Alternate pallbearer was Anna Drouillard. Her honorary pallbearers were all her family and close friends. Interment was in the Prince of Peace Cemetery following her service.
