Thomas (Tom) Francis Hennessy, 81, of Clarissa, passed away on September 3, 2018, in Staples. Funeral services for Thomas will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 5 p.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. Mitchell Bechtold officiating. Burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pomona, California.
Tom was born May 6, 1937, in Minneapolis to Thomas and Margaret (Egan) Hennessy. He attended the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Minnesota High School. After graduation Tom moved to California with his family. Tom served in the United States Air Force from 1961 through 1963. Tom worked at General Dynamics as a machinist for many years.
In 1984 he moved to Sebeka and purchased a 40-acre hobby farm. In January of 2017 Tom moved to Clarissa to be closer to his family where he developed many great friendships. He enjoyed farming, drinking coffee and playing cribbage. Tom was especially proud of his Irish heritage.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Doug) Johnson of Browerville; grandchildren: Ezequiel Nava, Carlos Nava and ClairAnn Johnson; nephew, James Constantine of California; niece, Kathleen Constantine of Montana and always his step-children: Alfred Escoto, Theresa Nila, and Susan Escoto, all of California.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Hennessy, brothers: Clem Hennessy and John (Mary Rita) Hennessy, sister Mary Rita (Al) Constantine, and infant daughter Tammy.
