Irene Majava

1935-2018

Irene Hilda (Honga) Majava, age 83, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018, in Surprise, Arizona. Irene will be interred at a later date at the Pickerel Lake Cemetery in Wolf Lake, Minnesota.

Irene was born August 23, 1935 in the family farmhouse in Wolf Lake, Becker County, Minnesota, to John and Elsie Honga. Irene was the third of five children. She married Eino (Red) Arthur Majava in 1956. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by their infant child, Daniel Edward Majava and her brothers: Edward Honga, Wilmer Honga and Wilbert Honga, and her infant great-grandson, Everett Lee Heggins.

Irene is survived by her husband of 62 years, Eino, in Surprise, Arizona; her sister, Elaine Hadel (John) of Belle Plaine; children: Kenneth Alan Majava (Ellen) of Raeford, North Carolina, Thomas Jay Majava (Wanda) of Clermont, Florida, and Catherine Mary Christensen of Goodyear, Arizona; grandchildren: Colleen Boggs, Randy Majava, Brian Majava, Amanda Heggins, Christopher Majava, Melinda Majava, Elizabeth Christensen, Karen Christensen and Daniel Christensen; five great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
