Margaret Sarah (Beck) Huwe was born on February 29, 1932 at home. Her parents were the late Carl and Sophie (Anderson) Beck. Margaret grew up on the family farm in Spruce Grove Township, rural Wolf Lake. She attended the Frazee High School. On May 17, 1950 Margaret was united in marriage with Eldor Herbert Huwe at Bethany Lutheran Church in Midway, Minnesota. Together they farmed for 65 years near Wolf Lake. Their marriage was blessed with five children. In 2015, Margaret and Eldor moved to their new home in Perham.

Margaret loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed square dancing, music, playing cards, gardening, crocheting, ceramics, quilting, crossword puzzles and making lefsa. Margaret was delighted in being a Leap Year baby, making her 21 years old – a fun joke. Her family always enjoyed her wonderful fried chicken, potato salad and delicious pies. Yum!

On November 7, 2018 Margaret passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes at 86 years of age. She will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.

Preceding Margaret in death were her parents; daughter, Connie; sister, Sarah; and brother, Alvin.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Eldor Huwe of Perham; children: Linda Huwe of Minneapolis, Laurie (John) Hendrickx of Butler, Tim (Brenda) Huwe of Park Rapids, and Jane (Robert) VonRuden of Frazee; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister: Jeanette Huwe of Perham; many other relatives and a host of friends.
