Carlotta Stomberg
1948 – 2018
Carlotta Stomberg passed away peacefully in Saint Paul, Minnesota on Friday, December 7, 2018 after a long illness.
Born Carlotta Ann Olson on April 1, 1948 to Ansel and Ruth Olson, she grew up on their farm outside Hillview, and graduated from Menahga High School in 1966. She attended St. Barnabas School of Nursing in Minneapolis, and worked in the medical field for nearly fifty years. She was elected to the Spring Lake Park School Board and served for many years, then spent many more years volunteering with her church, the Michael Servatus Unitarian Society in Fridley.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth (Liimatta) Olson, her favorite little brother Donnie, and her loving husband of 41 years, Don Stomberg (MHS ‘56).
She is survived by her father, Ansel; her sons: Jeremy (Amy), and Stephan (Kate), both of Saint Paul; grandchildren: Kieran, Moira, and Cillian; her exchange student sons: Paulo Sartor of Brazil and Tolga Dorken of Turkey; lifelong best friend Rose Stomberg of Menahga; special cousin Roxie (Liimatta) Lindberg, and her six surviving brothers and sisters: Ron, Brenda, Leland, Tim, Tami, and Rhonda.
A Menahga service in December will be announced, and a Twin Cities service will take place Saturday January 12, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Heights Theater, 3951 Central Avenue NE in Columbia Heights.
Memorials to the family will be donated to her favorite charities.

The Menahga service is Friday, December 28, at 3:00pm at the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home in Menahga, right along Highway 71.
I worked with Carlotta in Medical Services at American Family Insurance. I will always treasure her positive attitude, sense of humor, and welcoming smile. Blessed be her memory.
