Sheryl Polman-Biittner

Sheryl Ann Polman-Biittner passed away on December 6, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 27, 1957, in Sebeka, Minnesota to Claire and Regina Polman. Sheryl and her husband Dan made their home in Barnum, Minnesota in 1989. She started teaching in Barnum in 1995.

She is survived by her loving husband and sons, Brandon and Kyle. She is also survived by her father, Claire Polman, and sisters: Sharon (Mike) Heino, Sheila (Ellis) Bower, and Sheree Polman, plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Regina Polman, and sister, Shelly.

Sheryl taught Spanish at BHS and coached the Knowledge Bowl team. She was known by her students as “Senora” and was an excellent, passionate teacher. She was always a positive role model to her fellow teachers and students.

Sheryl loved spending time with her family in the garden and in their cozy home. She enjoyed game nights, traveling, watching Jeopardy, making cards and hand-loomed rugs and handmade gifts. She was a witty lady and a wonderful wife, mom, sister, friend and teacher. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
