Donald Anderson

1931-2018

Donald W. Anderson, 87, of Johanna Shores in Arden Hills, Minnesota, passed away on December 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Don was born in Sebeka. He met the love of his life, Lenore, at a dance in the country near Park Rapids. They were married on August 8, 1953. He served in the United States Air Force at Forbes Air Force Base near Topeka, Kansas. After his four years in the Air Force, Don moved to St. Cloud where he attended and graduated St. Cloud State University. Don was employed as a 6th grade teacher, whereupon he moved around the state of Minnesota until he settled in Kensington. After his children graduated high school, Don decided to change careers and move to the Twin Cities. He started his new career at Johanna Shores in Arden Hills as a CNA and then onto the maintenance department, where he remained, moving up to become the Maintenance Director until his retirement after 20 years of service. His staff still refers to Don as being a great boss!

Don is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lenore; daughter Debbie Nelson (Mark) and their three children, Jason, Ryan and Jessica; daughter Nancy Cook and her two children, Trent Cook, and Tamara Buckner (Joshua) and her two girls, Paisley and Nora; and also son Scott Anderson (Phung) and their two boys, Todd and Ben.

He is the last child preceded in death by his mother Lydia; father, Frank; brothers and sisters.

He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and good friend. His sense of humor and charm will be in our minds and souls. Family and friends will also remember his character and that “He’s a Hoot!” referring to his outlook on life. He loved music, dancing, woodworking, along with watching baseball and basketball.
Husband, father and friend, he will be missed and loved by all who knew him. We Love You!

A Celebration of Life service was held at Johanna Shores in Arden Hills on Saturday, December 15.
