Nathan Carlson

1980 – 2019

The Celebration of Life funeral service for Nathan Carlson of Menahga, formerly of Brainerd and Fort Worth, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Pillager. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.

Nathan passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 after fighting complications from a stroke, at Greenwood Connections in Menahga under the gentle care of Red River Valley Hospice.

Nathan was born on January 14, 1980 to Martin and Nancy (Lee) Carlson in Long Prairie, Minnesota. He graduated high school with the class of 1999, in Brainerd.

Nathan was part of the East Gull Lake First Responders and National Ski Patrol. He had the wonderful ability to make everyone in the room smile, no matter the situation. He was courageous and brave, always willing to try something new. He loved gummy bears!

Nate was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his uncle William Major.

Holding Nate forever in their hearts are his wife, Jane; children: Elizabeth Rose, Valerie Anne, Benjamin Martin, and Vanessa Jane; parents: Martin (Nancy) Carlson of Fort Worth, Texas; siblings: Katie Carlson, Jana (Craig) Keefe, Jane (John) Grangroth, and Curtis Carlson, along with a multitude of friends and family.

Active pallbearers will be Curtis Carlson, Benjamin Carlson, Craig Keefe, John Grangroth, Steve Fitch, Jayme Hanson, Brent Hillstrom, and Scott Hillstrom.

Burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
