Kevin John Kjellberg, 75, of rural Menahga, Minnesota, passed away February 12, 2021 peacefully in his home. He was born September 12, 1945, son of Mae (Lyrenmann) and Marty Kjellberg in Monticello, Minnesota.
He graduated from Monticello High School in 1963. After attending St Cloud State for a short period, he chose to enlist and serve honorably in the US Navy in 1964 on the USS Intrepid based in Subick Bay Philippines and Naval Station Norfolk, VA. He returned to Monticello in 1966 and started a real estate business until he moved his family to Menahga in 1973, where he purchased and operated a dairy farm. He remained in Menahga at that residence until his passing.
He is survived by his loving children: Jodi Kjellberg, Shane (Tonia) Kjellberg, Cally (Matt) Kjellberg-Nelson, and Tristan Kjellberg; grandchildren Louis Kjellberg, Seth, Lance, and Nate Kjellberg, and Tucker, Mason and Pierce Nelson; siblings: Kent (Meredith) Kjellberg, Keith Kjellberg, and Kacey Kjellberg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mae and Marty Kjellberg; brother Kurt and sister-in-law Diane Kjellberg.
His family hopes to celebrate his memory this spring at the VFW in Menahga, Minnesota when the COVID restrictions allow the service.
My sympathy to Kevin’s family.
I was surprised to hear of his passing.
He had a great spirit and sense of humor. He was an asset to the community and will be missed by many, I am sure.
