Robert Christiansen

1941 – 2021

Robert Dale Christiansen, age 80, of Loretto, Minnesota died July 6, 2021.

Robert was born April 29, 1941 to Loyle and Ruth Christiansen at home in Walcott, North Dakota.

Robert, along with his siblings Darrell, Rodger, Myrna, Doris and Gloria worked in the fields of Walcott, North Dakota. Robert joined the US Army and served from 1960 to 1963 when he received an honorable discharge as a Combat MP. He received a good conduct medal and he was also a marksman. After the military he became a police officer and worked in Independence for 10 years, and then retired as Chief of Police the last year. In 1976 they moved to Sebeka and started farming.

Robert also loved wood working and built many beautiful pieces of furniture. Robert was a people person and had many friends. He was a huge John Wayne fan.

On January 30, 1965 he married Joyce Ardis Fink. From that marriage came four children: Roxanne, Rebecca, Christopher and Cory.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Loyle and Ruth, siblings Darrell, Rodger, Myrna and Gloria.

Robert is survived by his sister Doris, and children: Roxanne (Andrew), Rebecca (Duane), Christopher “Topher”, and Cory (Nichole); 11 grandchildren: Ashley, Roy, Cameron, Stella, Colton, Kailey, Courtney, Kendra, Connor, Kelsey and Carson; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 10:45 a.m. at Fort Snelling.
