Joseph Quick

1937 – 2021

Joseph J. Quick, 84, of Lake Ariel passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, December 12, 2021 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Ann (Snyder) Quick.

Born May 4, 1937 in Tobyhanna, PA, he was the son of the late Aaron and Beatrice (Hay) Quick.

In the late 1940s, Joe moved with his family to Muncy, PA where he met and married Ann and together, they started a family. A farmer at heart for nearly all his life, Joe raised sheep for many years. In 1973, the Quicks sold their farm and moved to Sebeka, Minnesota where they owned and operated a sheep farm of 400 head. After nearly ten years, the family moved back to Muncy where Joe worked in various factories. In 2010, Joe and Ann moved to Lake Ariel, where they enjoyed being with family and friends. Joe was a member of the South Canaan Free Methodist Church.

Joe is also survived by three children: John Quick and his wife Irene of Lake Ariel, Daniel Quick of Nashville, TN, and Renee Quick of Lavergne, TN; five grandchildren: Nathan Quick and his wife Erin, Jennifer Zdziarski and her husband Brandon, Brigitte Butler and her husband Chris, Ashley Thomas and her husband Cody, and Carrie Gresh; seven great-grandchildren: Karly, Gavin, Shane, Rohanna, Isaiah, Mackenzie, and Reece.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Saffel; and his brother, Aaron Quick.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the South Canaan Free Methodist Church, 19 Saint Tikhon’s Road, South Canaan, PA with Pastor Judy Sullivan and Rev. William Rushik officiating. Friends and family may visit on Thursday from 12-1 p.m. in the church. Interment will be private in Muncy, PA.
