Glen Hemphill

1936 – 2022

Glen David Hemphill died on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Golden Horizons in Sandstone.  He was 85 years old.

Glen was born on February 6, 1936 in Wadena, MN to David and Pearl (Grant) Hemphill.  He was devoted to his faith and his loving wife of 62 years, Delores.  He served our country in the United States Air Force.  His greatest passion was the outdoors, and he was a storyteller extraordinaire.

He is survived by his wife, Delores; four daughters: Andrea (Mitch), Kim (Jeff), Beth (Scott), and Melissa; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy (Sharon); sister, Donna; sister-in-law, Trina; brother-in-law, Ivy (Nancy); nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A very special thank you to Alan, Kenny, Wayne and Ed for always being available with a helping hand.

Funeral services celebrating his life were held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Peace Lutheran Church in Finlayson with Rev. Donald Polege officiating.  Music was provided by Marge Haefner, Kathy Johnson, Mike Hemphill and Ann Marie Hemphill.  Casketbearers were Josh Hemphill, Caden Hemphill, Ben Mordick, Jared Kevitt, Samantha Kevitt, Criss Hagan, Bobby Jenkinson and Chris Roy.   Military honors were provided by the Sandstone Honor Guard.  Burial will take place at 12:30 on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area #2.
