Paul Gentz

1949 – 2022

Paul Edward Gentz of Sebeka, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, at the age of 73.

Paul was born on February 4, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated in 1968 from John Marshall High School in Rochester, Minnesota. Paul enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in Hawaii and Vietnam. After the service, Paul lived in California, where he worked in a leather factory for several years before moving to Wadena. He worked at Homecrest until 2005 as a welder and fabricator. In 2005, Paul made a transition to St. Cloud, Minnesota where he continued his work as a welder and fabricator for DCI from 2005 until his retirement in 2013.

Paul enjoyed spending his retirement fishing, hunting, gardening, and being outdoors. He loved riding his motorcycle, woodworking, and making wine. Paul adored spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.

Deeply loved, Paul’s passing will be mourned by his son Travis (Jessica) Gentz, his grandchildren Jordan and Gabriella Gentz, his sister Judi Gross, his brother-in-law Bernie Nielsen, his nieces, and many friends.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kay Nielsen.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Karvonen Funeral Home in Wadena, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
