Ronald Tappe 1956 – 2022
Ronald Lee Tappe passed away on August 14, 2022 in Modesto, CA, due to complications of COVID. Ronald was born on August 18, 1956 as the 6th child and 5th son to Edgar and Mary (Sidenkrantz) Tappe in Wadena, MN. He lived with his parents on the family farm with four brothers and six sisters near Sebeka until 1974. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, North Germany Township. He attended grades 1-5 at the brick Country School and then transferred to Sebeka Public school in 1967 when he was in 6th grade. He graduated from Sebeka High in 1974. Immediately, after high school he enlisted in the US Navy. After basic training he served on the USS Enterprise and sailed around the world. After his service in the Navy he made his home in California until his death on Sunday, August 14, 2022. He enjoyed the California outdoors, camping, fishing, golfing and recycling.
He is survived by three brothers: Burton (Sylvia), of Verndale, Robert of Fargo, ND, and Gerald (Bonnie), of Warroad; five sisters: DeAnna (Dennis) Krupke, of Sebeka, DeLilah, of Fargo, ND, DeOla, of Sebeka, DeLora, of Farmingham, MA. and DeLynda, Fargo, ND. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one brother, two sisters, aunts and uncles.
Ronald was cremated and his ashes were put to sea off the Coast of Marin County. He lived a simple life in California and appreciated the kindness of his California family and friends.
We will be gathering at the Tappe farm on County Rd 23 east of Sebeka on Monday, September 5 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, cards and memorials, please donate to your favorite charity. All are welcome.
