Jerry Mapes 1959 – 2022

Jerry Lee Mapes, passed away peacefully at his home in Menahga, Minnesota surrounded by family and his pets on October 7, 2022, at the age of 63. Jerry was born on October 6, 1959.
Jerry graduated from Woodbury Senior High. He was in the Navy four years and when he got out, he had many jobs: school bus driver, driving instructor, casino security, truck driver, motel worker and many others. Jerry was also a huge Twins baseball fan, MN Viking fan and sport card collector. He also enjoyed painting, drawing, and writing stories.
He was preceded in death by father, Sylvester Friedl. Jerry is survived by mother, Toni Friedl; son, Brian Mapes; daughter, Angela (Shawn) Chapin; brothers: Steve Mapes, Sam Friedl and Joe Friedl; sister, Cheri Coy; and many nieces, nephews & friends.
There will be a family viewing of Jerry from 11:30-12:30 p.m., Monday, October 24 at Klecatsky & Sons Southern Chapel, 414 Marie Ave; SSP. Jerry will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the family is preferred.
