It’s with great sadness that the family of Curtis ‘Curt’ Alan Becker announce his passing on January 12, 2023, at the age 65.
Curt is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joan Becker. Father to his children, Jessica (Chris) Bock, Ashley (Mike) Kohler, Justin (Kristin) Becker, and Dylan (Victoria) Becker. Grandfather to Kylee, Kaleb, Kelsi, Henry, Mia, Ava, and Jackson. Brother of Brett Becker, Kim Hoban, Shawn (Amy) Becker, and Todd (Leah) Becker. Further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Virginia and Melvin Becker.
Curt was born in Minneapolis, MN on July 9, 1957. He graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Aurora, CO in 1976. On June 23, 1979, he married Joan in Glen Lake, MN. They attended the same grade school together until Curt moved away, only to meet again at the age of 19. They welcomed four children, which meant the world to him. After living near the Twin Cities for several years, Curt and the family moved to the peaceful woods of Northern Minnesota, settling in Menahga in 2001.
Curt was very hardworking his entire life, determined to provide a fulfilling life for his family. He had dreams of retiring just a year from when he passed, with hopes of enjoying more time with his family and his favorite pastime, fishing. To say Curt was passionate about fishing is an understatement. He fished on countless lakes across the great state of Minnesota. He especially loved fishing with his family, a passion and skill he passed on to his kids and now grandchildren. Curt also enjoyed hunting, boating, traveling, and riding his motorcycle on warm summer days. His family will miss him dearly.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering for Curt on Saturday, May 6 to reminisce, grieve, support and of course, share fish tales. Service will be held in Plymouth, MN at Clifton E. French Regional Park in the Oakwood Room at 11 a.m. Reception to follow.2-8pd
