Ruby Aho 1940 – 2023

Ruby Aho, age 82, of Frazee, Minnesota passed away on March 20, 2023 at Frazee Care Center in Frazee, Minnesota. Memorial Services were held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Christ Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake, Minnesota with Pastor David Walsh officiating. Ruby will be laid to rest at Wolf Lake Cemetery, Wolf Lake, Minnesota at a later date.
Ruby Eleanor Johnson was born on July 5, 1940 to Elmer and Ina (Helmquist) Johnson in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. She attended New York Mills High School.
On June 8, 1957, Ruby was united in marriage to Melvin Aho at Apostolic Lutheran Church in New York Mills. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Randy, Rhonda, Lynnae, and Lana. Together they made their home in Wolf Lake. Ruby was employed at Ringers Sewing Company in Park Rapids, Minnesota, Wolf Lake Locker Plant, Wolf Lake Co-op, and Wolf Lake Liquor Store before retiring in 2005. Melvin passed away on March 27, 2010.
Ruby enjoyed driving around, sightseeing, and spending time outdoors feeling the sun on her face. She had fun learning about technology and the in’s and out’s of using a computer, but she could never grasp the concept of how to use a smart phone. She learned about the internet, and how to check in on her family members’ Facebook profiles for life updates. She enjoyed playing games on Facebook as well. Ruby was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake, loved to read, and bake.
Preceding Ruby in death are her parents: Elmer and Ina; husband: Melvin; siblings: Emmett, Agnes, Melmer, Dorothy, Eino, James, Floyd, and John; and son: Randy.
Ruby is survived by her daughters: Rhonda (Dave) Eckert of Frazee; Lynnae (Linwood) Fredericksen of Downers Grove, Illinois; and Lana Aho of Fargo, North Dakota; daughter-in-law: Vernette Gilbertson; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
