Dianne Mens 1944-2023

Dianne Carol Mens (Dissmore), 79 was called to heaven by angels on August 16, 2023 after a painful struggle with cancer. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ward, with whom she had four children: Abbie (Jim), Patrick (Colleen), Shelly (Kevin,) and Kelly (Matt) and grandchildren: Andres, Isabella, Nico, Isaac, Hazel, and Isis. She is also survived by two loving sisters, Mitzi and Mary (Robert), and many nieces and nephews.
Dianne was born July 10, 1944 and raised in Menahga, MN. She moved to Minneapolis and got a nursing job. She met Ward Mens and married him in 1965. She quit nursing to start a family. She taught Sunday School for 18 years and was a trustee at Faith United Methodist for 15 years. Dianne was a loyal Mobile Meals coordinator for 46 years and co-owner of Concord Drug Co. She was an amazing hostess and homemaker who doted on her family and friends. In their later years, Dianne and Ward discovered the world beyond Minnesota, enjoying 12 cruises and visiting 42 countries. Ward and Dianne were married for 58 years.
The world is truly better because Dianne Mens inspired us with her love, faith, and selflessness.
Please help us celebrate Dianne’s life at Faith United Methodist Church in West St Paul on Wedneday, August 23. The visitation will be an hour before the service 10-11 a.m. and the service will begin at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family choice.
