Karl Oja 1966 – 2023

Karl Hugo Oja, age 57, of Delano, died on October 9, 2023 after battling a lengthy illness. Karl graduated from Sebeka High School in 1984. He was united in marriage to Kathy on June 15, 1991. They were blessed with nine children. He worked as a mold designer until his death.
Preceded in death by father, David Oja; father-in-law, Paul Ylitalo; uncle Ervin (Mary) Peterson; aunts: Alice (Ray) and Marie (Russell); brother-in-law Ronald Ylitalo, sisters-in-law Shari Ylitalo and Kim Ylitalo, and brother-in-law, Brad Ylitalo.
Survived by wife, Kathy; children, Kurt (Janna), Kara (Dave) Wesa, Justin (Katie), Chad (Julianna), Ross (Maria), Linnea (Andy) Pietila, Trevor, Jake, and Connor; grandchildren, Evelyn, Hallie, Alayna, Isaac, Riina, Bennett, Aili, Tanner, Myla, and Jedd; mother, Betty Oja; brothers, Glen (Diana) and Jon (Katie); sisters, Judy (Tom) Ruonavaara, and Betsy Kangas. Also, the Ylitalo family; Lillian, Dan (Katie), Tom (Chrys), Brian, Linda (Davey) Lasanen, Mark (Barb), Bruce (Lynn), Rachel, Karen (Jim) Linna, Kris (Kevin) Kangas, Aaron (Mindy), Jason (Katie), and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral service were held October 13, 2023 at First Apostolic Lutheran Church, 2300 Cox Trail, Medina. Interment was held at Delano Public Cemetery.
